Description
This e-puertobilbao platform service makes a telematics channel available to its community of users that provides a medium for processing Paper-free Customs clearance.
This is a service aimed at enabling the drawing up and Customs contrast of cargo lists for export, as well as the sending of the same to the stevedoring companies (Terminals) and to Customs.
Target Group
Conceptually, this service, which is directed towards shipping companies, enables export packing lists to be crossed with Customs clearance notifications. This circuit harmonises in time two complementary business processes in the port logistics activity chain: on the one hand, drawing up goods lists for embarkation, and on the other, the clearance of the goods in question.
This data contrast is produced in an asynchronous and recurring way, with a view to generating cargo lists that are as complete as possible and that guarantee the correct customs status of the goods. This avoids the on-the-spot presentation of the corresponding Customs documents to Customs.
Advantages
As its very name indicates, paper-free Customs clearance is a service that has eliminated paper in export goods clearance processing; nevertheless, the true value of its contribution is the way in which the elimination has taken place.
This service contributes a new modelling to the process of the contrast of Customs situation which is carried out at the Customs.
In this new focus, the cargo list for embarkation is contrasted at the beginning of the process and in real time with the clearance information coming from Customs. The resultant information is later made available to the Customs, thus avoiding handing over the different Customs documents on paper.
